Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul wants the club to sign more players this summer to push the club forward, as reported by the Evening Chronicle.
Alan Pardew made his first signing of the summer in the shape of Loic Remy on loan from Queens Park Rangers last week but the former West Ham and Charlton boss also wants more names through the door before the window shuts in September.
Remy is out inured for a month and so Joe Kinnear has been pressured into bringing more faces in with Aston Villa striker Darren Bent his main target, although the striker has now joined Fulham.
Krul has been impressed with new boy Remy but knows that the North East club need to bring in fresh faces to avoid suffering similar misery to last season where the Toon battled relegation for the majority.
“Loic Remy’s given everybody a boost – that’s what everybody’s been waiting for,” Krul said.
“They’re the kind of players we like to sign.
“Newcastle is such a big club, and those are the kind of players that are going to make us better.
“We’re definitely delighted with that.”
