West Ham United’s Premier League match against Manchester City, that was postponed due to Storm Ciara, has been rescheduled, as confirmed by the club’s official channels.
The game will now be played on Wednesday 19th February at 19:30 following discussions between the clubs, Premier League and other relevant authorities.
While they may have come to an agreement, Hammers fans are fuming about the decision that has been reached.
There are various reasons why fans are annoyed from a footballing standpoint, with one being the fact they will now be playing Man City less than a week before facing Liverpool.
The feeling behind this is that they’re two of the hardest games the Hammers will play all season on paper, so probably won’t do the team’s confidence a great deal of good.
There is also the fact that the fixture will now cut into the team’s scheduled break, which is seen as another disadvantage.
There are also issues being taken with the monetary side of this, as the lack of time between the announcement and travelling times can play into hefty prices being charged for travel.
West Ham have offered free coach travel to the game, but the suggestion has been made that those who are not from an area where they can capitalise on this have been left in the lurch.
Overall, fans are far from satisfied with the final decision that has been reached.
Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini has been slammed for his comments regarding West Ham.
