Former Manchester United midfielder Bryan Robson has stated that Patrick Vieira’s comments about the Premier League champions of late have been out of line.
The Etihad Stadium executive claimed that the Red Devils’ youth system is not as strong as it used to be due to Sir Alex Fergsuon’s decision to bring back Paul Scholes.
The Scottish coach retorted by questioning Roberto Mancini’s choice of allowing Carlos Tevez to return to action, and Robson has defended his former club.
“City were trying to have a go at Scholes coming back. I think Vieira is totally out of order in what he said,” Robson told Mirror Football.
“The boss came back straight away and he was dead right in what he said about Tevez. If Tevez had been playing for us, there’s no way the gaffer would have given him a game this season.
“It doesn’t matter how good you are. How can you go off for three months like that?” he concluded.
