Arsene Wenger is a tough man to replace. One of the game’s greatest managers has always loved a bargain, too. For the most part, they have been monumentally successful during his Arsenal tenure, as well.
Managing the club through potentially perilous financial times, bringing great success and playing some glorious football along the way, stepping into Wenger’s shoes is no easy task.
The Gunners have a lovely budget to be working with on Football Manager. The squad has plenty of talent, but you have the sort of capital at your fingertips translate a decent squad into one of the best in Europe.
Investment, however, still needs to be shrewd. Changing the squad is not a necessity, but improving some of the ‘depth’ players certainly would improve the chances of achieving a magical first season.
Even with a big team of scouts, you can always do with the extra pointer towards a future star on Football Manager.
In fact, there are even some that could slot straight into your first team…
Ramadan Sobhi
Sobhi may have only just signed for Stoke, but the talented, versatile Egyptian winger is one of the most under-rated players on the game.
Within a few seasons Sobhi will be far above the ability of Oxlade-Chamberlain and could be future of the Arsenal attack.
Bartlomiej Dragowski
With David Ospina likely to demand first team football at some point and Petr Cech only an injury away from serious decline, a long term goalkeeping solution is required.
He may not be cheapest option out there – there are plenty of options between the twigs – but Dragowski is sure worth it.
Hirving Lozano
Few 20-year-olds are ready to play a part in the Arsenal squad – Hirving Lozano is one of those few.
Like Sobhi, he is able to play on either flank and can even be developed into a central striking option if you so desire. Arsenal specialise in this sort of young player, or so it seems. Lozano could even be signed to be loaned out.
Cesc Fabregas
No, surely not?
You cannot sign Cesc for Arsenal again, can you?
Well, yes, yes you can. Chelsea aren’t too keen on keeping the Spaniard at the start of most saves and, with some mouth-watering ratings, Fabregas can be a lynchpin for Arsenal again.
Jesus Corona
Jesus Corona is admittedly yet another attacking midfielder on this list, but there’s no reason not to move for them all.
Corona will, at the very least, be a solid squad member for several seasons. He is a talent, for sure, but its again his versatility that makes him such a bargain.
Although Iwobi and Chamberlain offer similar flexibility, Chamberlain will face periods on the sidelines with injury.
